Data Deletion

Last updated 8 October 2026

This page explains how to remove the data My Post Scout holds about you, including anything received from Facebook and Instagram. You can stop us accessing your accounts yourself at any time, and you can ask us to delete everything.

What we hold from Facebook and Instagram

If you connect a Facebook Page or Instagram account, we store:

  • An access token that lets us publish to that Page or account on your behalf (encrypted at rest).
  • The name and ID of the Page or Instagram account, so we can show which one is connected.

We do not store your Facebook friends, messages, or personal timeline. Posts and photos you publish through My Post Scout are also kept in your My Post Scout account, as described below.

Option 1: Disconnect inside My Post Scout

  1. Log in at mypostscout.com and open Connectors.
  2. Find Facebook or Instagram and click Disconnect.

This deletes the stored access token and the Page or account details straight away. We can no longer post to that account.

Option 2: Remove My Post Scout from Facebook

  1. In Facebook, go to Settings & privacy → Settings.
  2. Open Security and login and look for Business integrations (or Apps and websites).
  3. Find MyPostScout Publishing and click Remove.

This revokes our permission on Facebook’s side. Any token we still hold stops working, and you can also use Option 1 to delete it from our records.

Option 3: Ask us to delete your account and all data

Email hello@mypostscout.com from the address you signed up with, with the subject “Delete my data”. We may reply to confirm it’s really you before we delete anything.

We will delete your account and the data linked to it within 30 days, including:

  • Your profile and sign-in details.
  • Your brands, content pillars, ideas and generated posts, including edits and attached photos.
  • Connected social accounts and their tokens, and any posts scheduled but not yet published.
  • Your publishing history and analytics.

We may keep a limited record of payments (handled by Stripe) where the law requires us to for tax or accounting. Anything already published on Facebook or Instagram stays there. We don’t control your posts on those platforms, so delete them there if you want them removed.
