Privacy Policy

My Post Scout (“we”, “us”) is an AI-assisted social media content planner available at mypostscout.com. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the service you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and, if you sign up with a password, a securely hashed version of it (we never store your actual password).
- Google sign-in: if you choose “Continue with Google”, we receive your name, email address and profile identifier from Google. We do not access your Gmail, Drive, contacts or any other Google data.
- Brand information you enter: brand names, descriptions, audience, expertise, content pillars, tone of voice and similar details you provide so we can write content for you.
- Content: the posts and captions generated for you, and any edits you make to them. We use your saved edits to match your writing style in future drafts for your own account.
- Connected social accounts: if you connect LinkedIn or Facebook/Instagram so you can publish posts, we store the access token that permits us to publish on your behalf, along with the name of the account or Page. Tokens are encrypted at rest.
- Billing: payments are handled by Stripe. We receive your subscription status and a Stripe customer reference, but we never see or store your full card number.
- Technical data: basic logs such as IP address, browser type and error information, used to keep the service secure and working.
How we use your information
- To provide the service: generating, editing, storing and publishing your content.
- To find current topics in your niche and turn them into post ideas.
- To manage your account, subscription and support requests.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix problems.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Google user data
My Post Scout’s use of information received from Google APIs is limited to signing you in (your name, email address and profile identifier). We do not transfer this data to others except as needed to provide the service or comply with the law, we do not use it for advertising, and no humans read it except where you ask for support or where required for security or legal reasons.
Publishing to your social accounts
We only post to LinkedIn, Facebook or Instagram when you click a publish button. We use the permissions you grant only to publish the content you choose. You can disconnect an account at any time under Connectors, which deletes the stored token, and you can also revoke access from within LinkedIn or Facebook. See how to delete your data for the full steps.
Who we share information with
We use trusted service providers to run the service. They process data only to provide their service to us:
- AI providers (currently Groq) — your brand details and the text being written are sent to generate content.
- Web search (currently Tavily) — search queries based on your niche are sent to find current trends.
- Stripe — payment processing and subscription management.
- Google, LinkedIn and Meta — for sign-in and, if you connect them, publishing.
- Hosting — our web and database hosting provider stores the data we hold.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and the service.
Retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete a brand (and its content) yourself in the app. To delete your whole account and associated data, email us at hello@mypostscout.com and we will act on it within a reasonable time, subject to any records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons.
Security
We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and encrypted storage of social account tokens. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique password.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to complain to your data protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@mypostscout.com.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and to secure the service. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
Visit statistics
We count visits to our own pages to understand how the site is used. Each page view records the page visited, the referring website (if any) and an approximate country and region. To work out the location, your IP address is sent to a geolocation lookup service (GeoJS) at the moment of the visit; we do not store your IP address. Visitors are told apart only by a one-way hash that changes every day, so we cannot follow anyone from one day to the next, and no cookies are used for this.
Children
My Post Scout is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes we will update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you.
